Volunteering With Shift
Volunteers are the heart and soul of our organization. Donating your time allows us to provide educational programs and services to our local community. We offer unique volunteering opportunities such as ‘Learn to Ride’ events, repair popups, workshops and fixing up bikes for those in need.
Volunteering with Shift is open to anyone, not just professional or aspiring bike mechanics. We need help to process, organize and upcycle community members' generous donations. Once refurbished bikes and parts are ready for retail, these sales fund critical services that support our underserved communities. As a volunteer, you play a pivotal role in building a more accessible bicycle-friendly future.

Open workshop nights with reserved workstand space for volunteers.
Receive a credit for each volunteer shift when using our Sign up form and enter into a monthly raffle.
Receive direct discounts on used parts:
After 1 volunteer session, you automatically become a member, equivalent to a one-month membership. This grants you a 10% discount on used parts and free use of our bike stands and tools as per our membership program.
After 10 volunteer sessions, enjoy a 20% discount on used parts.
After 30 volunteer sessions, receive a 30% discount on used parts.
Wanting to volunteer but would like to see what it’s all about first? Shift’s Third Thursday Volunteer Work Parties are the perfect place to get a feel for the space and our community. Have fun hanging out with bike-minded people while helping provide bikes for our community programs! Volunteer Work Parties take place every third Thursday of the month from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
